Fi Dent - Confident Equestrians

Fi is an Accredited British Horse Society Stage 5 Coach, an Advanced Riding for the Disabled Coach, and has a high level of equine and teaching expertise. She is one of a handful of coaches to hold two Level 3 UKCC certificates, which have given her a fantastic grounding in coaching skills. Fi also gained an International qualification in Rider Biomechanics in America, and for all these reasons she has a unique set of skills and qualifications.

As a freelance coach for over forty years, Fi has taught riders of all ages and from most disciplines. As a qualified assessor and coach educator she worked for two of the largest training providers in the horse industry, training apprentices and students, and still prepares students for BHS exams. Fi is a Test examiner for several local Pony Clubs and a Consultant for Lingfield Equine Distance Learning courses.

Riding for The Disabled

Fi is joint Southeast Regional coach for Riding for the Disabled. This means she works with over 200 coaches providing training, mentoring, and maintaining their high standards with reviews and assessments.

As one of only five nationally appointed Accessibility Mark Support Officers, Fi provides training and support for Accredited riding schools offering riding for disabled riders over a large area.

This year Fi went to Sri Lanka as a consultant and coach to the Sri Lankan Horse Association and Premadasa Riding School to give training and run clinics.

Fi has recently been to Kosovo and Bosnia with the charity Phoenix Aid to deliver disability training to coaches and teachers for disabled riders.

As a horse owner and rider for most of her life she is passionate about horse welfare and standards.
